Paintwork Warranty

Has anyone ever had any luck disputing a paintwork warranty claim?

 

I've had paintwork peeling from the lower valance on a 2015 L&K for 8 months and Skoda have finally come back and said they are not at fault. Apparently I can get an independent company (PVWI2010) to assess it at a cost of c.£200 so was wondering if anyone on here has ever successfully done this.

Bumper respray should be around £200 ish from any decent bodyshop, I'd just get it sorted yourself and save the grief.

Who did Skoda UK have do the inspection and report, because if you check with just a little search you will see how often a Specialist report will not agree with the one Skoda UK has, 

and you can have them get the car repaired to better than Factory Standard, because this you are showing is factory standard and a fail.

 

They can pay for your report that shows they are taking the pith.

Hi, thanks for your response. It has given me food for thought.

 

I've only found out today that the claim was rejected and haven't got the report that says why. I'd just naively accepted it, until now. Have just emailed to request a copy.

 

I've been in touch with PVWI as they are who Skoda advised I would need to contact to challenge the claim rejection. Although I've not instructed them they have given me some great advice. With that,  your guidance and the fact I've calmed down and can think rationally I'm not taking this lying down.

So it would seem that Skoda have made a U-turn and the repair is being completed next week under Warranty. 

 

Call me cynical but I'm thinking that as I started the process of challenging their decision they realised they would lose and decided to reverse their decision to avoid more cost on their part.

Glad you got it sorted out , My vrs octavia  is just back last week from getting a new tail gate from warranty( rust spots at the spoiler ) , i had no problems it did take 7 weeks from start to finish , border car skoda in dumfries were spot on great service .

Had a similar issue with peeling paint albeit on my wing mirror - repaired without issue under warranty.
