A word of warning from Martin Lewis:

Martin Lewis warning

Basically, it says be careful about where your goods are being shipped from (Amazon, eBay, etc) since anything shipped from Europe gets taxed.

The threshold seems to be £135.

a number of companies I've spoken to recently including super skoda are saying they're not shipping to the UK. whether this is permanent remains to be seen

I got an email from super skoda the other day saying the are not shipping to the uk or processing new uk orders - as I said hopefully this is not permanent as there is some stuff I'd like from them and it appears no one else does it

This part of BREXIT has never been mentioned or I cared to ignore it.

There used to be an agreement about reduced or no checks for parcels and even letters.

In many EU countries the UK has been moved into a similar postage bracket, i.e. more expensive, to Switzerland and declarations are required.

When sending to the UK it is the UK that is imposing extra VAT and import tax. This also now applies to orders from China, e.g. Aliexpress. So the UK could remove that extra burden for the Brexit loving citizens.
