Skoda iv EV Battery Recall

Recommended Posts

Recently got my iv back from its annual service. Apparently there is a recall on the battery and it needs to be booked back in... garage need the car for three days as the battery needs to be removed! I struggled to get much more info out of the dealer than that.. I know there were recalls preciously (link here)  but not sure if that is what mine would be in for or not.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this. I looked up recalls online and apparently there are none outstanding on my car.

There are Recalls, Recall Actions. TPI,s and various things.

Sometimes pinned on this forum at top of the section.  Octavia Mk4 or Superb Mk3 for iV's / PHEV's.

************** RECALL.

There is the issue with a Recall Action, or Service Campaign, unless you got a letter as the Registered Keeper RECALLING the car.

Muppets at Dealerships calling about RECALLS with no knowledge of what they are is not 'Simply Clever', just someone who is simple.

So a Skoda Secret Service Campaign where your car was at a Dealership and you found out.

RECALLS.   Actually were a Registered Keeper gets notified, or should.

Good.

Your can not part of the Safety Recall then, if it was the letter should have been with you a long time ago.  It is a SAFETY RECALL.

Sometimes it is a Lease Company or Fleet Management that gets the letters and not the actual keeper / driver / person who's life is at risk.

I WOULD MESSAGE SKODA UK WITH YOUR VIN & REG NUMBER JUST TO BE SURE. Incompetence is rather common.

Sometimes 'Recalls' do not show because seemingly they were carried out, or so they think.

The recall relates to the safety HV fuse - if it was to blow there is a chance it could short/arc to the bodywork. A very small chance!

The solution - A insulating mat is placed in the area to prevent any shorting if the fuse did pop.

Unless there is a new recall for a different issue that is!
