This German site tells u what's needed for each stage of performance

Belgian even ;)

Would love to see what the warranty covers, might be an ideal solution and easy enough to get there

You can go Stage 2 merely with a TBE upgrade although a FMIC and cold-air intake are much recommended. This tuning state will give anything from 225 to 250 bhp and around 320-360 Nm of torque depending on the tuner which is already a massive improvement over stock. That's as far as you can go with the stock turbo.

Beyond that point, it gets more complicated. Not many bolt-on solutions are available, LOBA is just a stock turbo "hybrid-ised" AFAIK and with not great gains from what I've seen. Also, beyond Stage 2, uprated DSG disks and engine internals are starting to look like a good idea.

In a nutshell, for various reasons beyond the scope of this thread, big tuning names have shown little interest in serious development for this engine both software and hardware wise. That is also the reason the figures from a well known international tuning house will be ~10% lower than smaller but much more 1.4 TSI-focused tuners from eastern Europe.

But I am a bit confused, is your car stock and you just wanna jump immediately to a BT solution or you're running some remap already? I can tell you that a good stage 2 on stock turbo will make you happy for quite some time before you need to look for further power.

PS. None of the 300+ bhp 1.4 TSIs has replaced the DSG7 with a DSG6, don't know where you heard that really. But as I said, uprated disks is not a bad idea when you're approaching those figures otherwise your tuner has to limit the torque too much to still be in safe territorry (below 400 Nm).

Stage 1 even will keep you smiling for some time. 213hp for me. No HW upgrades are needed (plugs recommended though).

+1

Stage 1 is the best bang for buck option to begin with. I chose to upgrade a few peripherals as well because I knew I would not stop there but still, I would recommend you start from there. That way you can appreciate every change much better imho.

Stage 2 level tuning will cost you enough. Going for a bigger turbo and everything else that goes with it to make it work properly will cost you double.

DubRusty.

What do you want it for, UK roads or road and track.?

Maybe best to go to a SEAT Dealer & trade in your vRS for a used Leon Cupra 265 or 280, it will cost less and go and handle better than

spending £5,000 or more on your car, and you can even still have a valid Warranty.

Silly money for what is practically a hybrid, ie real cost: 300-400£  (for the conversion).  If I was paying that amount of money solely on the turbo, I would go for a Garrett 2860/2870 that is capable of 350 bhp safely. Problem is you need someone reliable to prepare it  "bolt-on" for our cars. There's been some excellent jobs for a few customers so it's definitely do-able, but you need to devote time and effort (let alone the money), no off-the-shelf options unfortunately.

Good time for the same old question again.

?

Who knows of anyone running a Tuned CTHE vRS Fabia.

Not just with a Tuning Box, but a Remapped CTHE vRS in the UK?

Does anyone remap the CTHE yet?

APR, REVO & Shark Performance all say they can put the Stage 1 map on via the OBD Port for 2012 on CTHE Engines,

not one of the 3 have confirmed when asked that they have done.

APR & REVO just refer you to a Dealer.

Shark Performance never replied to the question in the Sponsors Section on Briskoda.

Maybe someone knows something more up to date.

Did the Video on here not show his vRS with a Tuning Box fitted and running very badly,

and then on the post on here, pictures of a APR Dealer with his ECU open but unable to MAP it to Stage 1.

Unless i am mixing up members & cars.

Did he previously have a Golf GTI?

EDIT.

I forgot that this video was such a good example of how not to drive in town, and how not to drive a Twincharger,

Also why not to fit a Tuning Box to a CTHE, and how to maybe lift off and let other drivers in.

(& why never to post Vids online of your driving if you do drive like a ****.)

Thanks for that guys, cant remember who told me about the gear box :') but yeah, looks like the stage 1 will be done as soon as then exhaust FMI and Induction ready for stage 2.

Obviously with more speed you need better stopping power whats suggested brake wise + suspension ?

I would suggest a search with these keywords as the car is already 4 years old and there's lot ot useful info to read in here from people who have tried different setups. I'm running H&R 40mm lowering springs with Bilstein B8 dampers and a rear arb and the difference is huge compared to stock. But as I said, a read up on past threads will probably steer you towards whatever suits your needs best.
